Hand water pump – Rampasha| Biswanath | Sylhet | Bangladesh

Background

Al Ummah Foundation received a request to install a hand water pump ( tubewell ) in a rural village in the district of Sylhet, Bangladesh. Four families will benefit from having a hand water pump in this area. There are over 20 people in total plus nearby villagers will also benefit. Currently these families consume water by collecting water from another household who don’t always give them access. Therefore sometimes they have to walk long distances to collect water. The beneficiary and the other families are very poor and have little or no savings, therefore qualify for Sadaqah.

Outcome

The hand water pump was installed in April 2023. The pump will provide clean water to four families in the village. The pump will provide the villagers with access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. It will also help to reduce the spread of disease. Access to clean water is fundamental to a good quality of life and the families will now benefit from this. May Allah (swt) reward the donor and their families in abundance for donating the Hand water pump.

How has the installation of the hand-water pump benefited the recipients and wider community?

The families will have access to fresh, safe drinking water, assist with bathing and household chores from this hand water pump.
It will improve their health considerably.
Nearby houses and families will now benefit from free access to fresh drinking water sources. The beneficiaries have agreed to grant access to anyone who requires it.

The installation of the hand water pump is a positive development for the four families in the village. The pump will provide them with easy access to clean water, which will improve their health and quality of life. The pump will also help to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.
